Vasco Neves


Vasco Neves, born in Covilhã, Portugal, in 1980, started his career as a studio assistant photographer when he was only 18 years old. Later, he decided to study at the Portuguese Institute of Photography, in Lisbon, and has since continued to work as a photographer.

In 2005, he joined the Público newspaper as an intern and between then and 2017 also worked for Diário de NotíciasJornal de Notícias24 HorasNotícias MagazineVolta ao Mundo and finally Correio da Manhã as a photojournalist and editor. His dedication to photojournalism is particularly focused on social issues. 

In 2008, he won 1st place at the BES/Visão Photojournalism Awards in the Portrait Category. Nowadays he works as an independent photographer.
